Dinner in omotesando, then harajuku…. A few drinks at a bar…
Went to 2 chome in Tokyo. The gay community …. Oddly… Quiet. I guess Castro in san Francisco spoiled me… But there wasn’t much going on… Just a bunch of really good music bars with good cheap drinks…. And guys and girls hanging out. Like the normal bars but a bit quieter. Where are the chaps, and the burly good looking gays in japan?!?
When I asked a cop how to get there he was surprised. Pretended not to know. Then finally he kept asking if I really wanna go there and if I’m sure or if I’ll be ok? Geez. I know this country has some conservative attitudes, but this was NOT that strong of a presence. I couldn’t really understand what they were so reserved about. Not much different than straight bars in san Francisco or Paris… Then again it was Monday.
