After a jog and gym today, I went to zoom sky bar… And a float center spa.
Zoom is basically a nice sky bar… On the more suburban side of Bangkok. It’s still central… But kind of on the outskirts. Being naturally late, always. I somehow needed to get there in 30 min… But it was rush hour traffic at 6pm…. Needed to get to the sunset… At 630… And had to be across town AGAIN. By 8…. To get to my appointment for floating center.
I took an uber moto. Basically the motorbike users. I could have taken a taxi motorbike too…. But I felt more comfy taking the uber I can order from my phone. First off, it’s insanely cheap… 50baht to go across town.. Essentially $1.20 across the whole city… What’s crazy is that they zig zag, cut through red lights, cut across sidewalks, zoom between cars…. The guy definitely knows what he’s doing… And I can’t imagine doing this on my own. Or driving my own moped like that. I was holding on to him like I hold my Korean babe tightly after a good lovemaking session. It’s def. … Risky. If something happens… You going around 45mph on the freeway… With just a flimsy helmet that covers about as much as a yamakha covers. And the cars around you that would hit you, if you did fall, are going aroun 80mph. But it SURE is fast. In a taxi this would have taken me… About an hour and a half. I made the trip in 20 min.
Zoom is very pretty. It’s in a nice location, where there’s a good amount of stuff…and yet, the area is quite clean, and the hotel is rather cheap due to it not being super central. It’s also busy… But quiet. Kind of like how financial centers are. It’s nice. Good food, great view, nice vibe. And as it’s a bit out of the way… Not very busy…. So you an take your pic of the tables.
Then went to a float center. Basically like the salt mines and lakes in Romania (in my country)…. It’s essentially a bath… Where you float due to the HIGH CONCENTRATION of salt. And I do mean high. You can’t get any of it on your eyes or any cuts… As it’ll sting to high heaven. You basically sit in this thing… Deprived of any sound or light… Total darkness…. And you can hear your heart beat. You sit there for about 2 hours. Floating. Weightless. Sometimes 1 min feels like a year… And then 20 min feels like 1 second. I fell asleep a bit… It’s definitely… Relaxing? I think that’s right. But not quite like a massage. Your thoughts wander and you notice things you don’t normally notice about your body….
Would I do it again? Meh. Maybe. Not exactly something I’d be excited for. But also not a bad thing. Personally, I prefer a good massage.
