So today I started my new SQL server training. Overall I’m really happy to be a part of this program. It’s the whole week and I’ll be in class 8 hours a day plus what I have to study at home.
The main reason this comes to my benefit is that while I work with some talented SQL server admins they have their own specialized methods of doing things. One is good at scripts. One knows the GUI inside out. They both know how the system works in the background. However, they continent each other. If I wanna learn a global view I have to ask both the same question. This class give me that global view and understanding of the system from a high level touching on all aspects of the interface. I can delve into hardware/performance tweaks and my own customization later.
